In his first round table talk with the media since taking office, President William Ruto discussed his plans for the country. The president of Kenya responded to concerns voiced by citizens about the country's economy and his plans.
President Ruto criticized the previous administration led by Uhuru, saying that the majority of actions made led the country to an economic halt, in addition to talking about the economy.
Furthermore, Ruto criticized George Kinoti, the former head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, for failing to adequately address the issue of extrajudicial murders. Kinoti was named by name by Ruto as one of the officers who oversaw murders while on duty.
How did we go to the police station where people were being slaughtered in a container in Nairobi? In a statement, Ruto explained that this was the primary reason he dismissed Kinoti, despite earlier rumors to the contrary.
The president assured the public that additional IPOA investigations are underway and that individuals responsible for the crimes will be held accountable in the not-too-distant future.
