Parliament in Kenya consists of two Chambers that is the National assembly and the Senate. Parliament has the sole responsibility of making and amending the Constitution of Kenya. Therefore before parliamentarians brakes for the election holidays, parliament change be used to bring some key changes in order to prevail peace a head of the next year's elections:
Parliment need to ament the Constitution to create a post of two deputy president. If this is done, the powers and privilages of he deputy president shall have been reduced and another community still had an opportunity to be the second in command. This will even expand the president to accommodate many. But still parliament must put one deputy ahead of the other, that is who to take over when the president is not in, or who to read the president's speech in his absence or who to welcome the president to speak when on occasion.
Parliament also need to amend the Constitution to creat a post of prime minister and his two deputies. This a gain will solve the problem of elections being a do or die system. This will have the antagonising candidates fits in the same government. For example am sure if this post is created now then Raila and Ruto will amicably solve their political differences, that is one as prime minister the other as the president then the OKA principals as deputy president and deputy prime minister.
Parliament also need to expand the number of cabinet secretaries appointed by the president from the lawful 22 to even 35 this will see many potential people absorbed and services even close to 'wanachi.'
Therefore it's the work of parliament to come up with mechanism to solve such outstanding and pending issues.
