New reports have now emerged on why ODM Party leader Raila Odinga refused an offer by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to be given an appointment in the government as well as government machinery during the last elections.
Speaking during an interview with TV47, Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai said that Mr Odinga was given the option of getting an appointment in the government as well as state machinery which will help him in the presidential election but he said no.
According to Alai, the reason behind Mr Odinga's refusal was due to the fact that he was advocating for a free fair and credible presidential election.
"Raila was a friend to the former President. Even when he was given the option of getting an appointment in government and government machinery during the election, Raila said no. He wanted to win the election freely, fairly and uncontested," posed Alai.
