Current Muranga County Governor Irungu Kangata will be smiling all the way to the bank this is after Royal Media Services(RMS) and MediaMax Ltd paid a cool Ksh. 12.5 million.
It should be remembered that last year Citizen TV Kenya and K24 TV and their respective Radio stations published a story on their websites concerning Kangata who by then was the senator.
Dr. Kangata went to court over the same article claiming that it was maliciously corrupted and lowered his reputation. The two media houses defended themselves saying that they didn't have any bad motive or malice.
According to Stephen Mutoro, the media houses have agreed to pay a total of Ksh 12.5 million with Citizen Television paying out Sh 6 million and MediaMax sh 6.5 million.

In my view, the press should be keen on what they report. This is because it can have an effect on the person being reported or it can cause unnecessary tension among people.
