Political campaign is a strategy that requires authorization as stated by the Kenyan constitution. The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission is in charge of investigating the correct time to authorize the campaign.
Many Kenyans may tend to disagree that no authorization is needed since the aspirants have been campaigning each and everyday some for five or more years now.
The chairman of Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission Mr. Wafula Chebukati announces that 29/05/2022 is the actual day the campaigns are authorized going forward. The campaigns are also banned during the last two days before election as the constitution states.
This is the reason behind the accusation the IEBC had made to the two popular presidential candidates DP William Ruto and his competitor Raila Odinga but the two came up well and the accusations buried.
It is now the perfect time for the aspirants to explain their agenda to the citizens but should also observe the agreed time to avoid disturbance.
Since the campaigns are now authorized, Kenyans will be looking forward to the President's upcoming speech on Madaraka day.
