The Ugandan government spokesperson Mr Ofwono Opondo came out to say that president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni does not need any congratulatory messages from the opposition because the president worked hard to secure his win.His sentiments came barely few hours after the National Unity Party platform has today held a mass at their party headquarters in Kamwokya where they prayed for the souls of those who died in the course of the election season and for election related reasons.
His remarks came in to questions as to whether it is time for General Museveni to start receiving congratulatory messages especially after when Mr Kyagulanyi decided to withdraw the case from the supreme court.Ofwono said that Bobi wine's challenge is unlikely to succeed, and the incumbent Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is likely to secure his sixth term in office as the president elect.
Giving his sentiments on as to why Bobi wine withdrew his case, the government spokesperson said that Kyagulanyi lacked the evidence to prove to court to nullify president Museveni's Victory and that is why he decided to instruct his lawyers to withdraw the case from the supreme court.Ofwono has once again used the opportunity to congratulate President elect Yoweri Kaguta Museveni upon winning the election when he has no court case awaiting him.
Ofwono Opondo finally closes his remarks by saying that Uganda is a sovereign state and he sees no reason why foreigners always try to look into things that don't concern them.
