The two leaders discussed issues that will spur economic development in the County.
The Governor cited recurrent drought and floods that perennially wreak havoc to crop farming in the county.
He also raised issues related to conflict with neighbouring counties over boundaries and scarce resources such as water and pasture.
Governor Korane appealed to the Swiss governmen to support his administration in Agriculture, Health and Water sector.
He also appreciated the Embassy for peace mediation program at the Garissa University urging them to extend the program to empower county peace committees and elders with relevant mediation skills.
He said empowering the peace stakeholders will aid them mitigate and make appropriate conflict resolution during times of conflict.
The Envoy said he was glad to visit Garissa to assess on areas of necessary support and get first hand impression of the Swiss projects
"We shall work with the County government and address the challenges in various sectors mentioned," said the Ambassador.
The Envoy who also serves Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and Somalia, toured Garissa Iftin Water point under RAPID project which is implemented by CARE Kenya and sponsored by the Swiss government. The project benefits 30,000 households.

The envoy toured Najah Children's home in Iftin which is a beneficiary of the water project before attending an exchange meeting with officials from the department of water and irrigation led by CEC Hon. Abdi Omar Farah.
The Envoy was accompanied by high powered delegation including the CEO of FCDC Kenya Mr Simba Guleid, Deputy County Commissioner Mr. James ole Kappury and Dr. Kuno S Abdi the Food Security Advisor Swiss Co-operation office, Horn of Africa among other officials.
Garissa County Secretary Abdi M Ali, CEC Finance and Economic planning Hon Issa Oyow, CEC for Education, County Public Service and ICT Hon Ahmed Nadhir Omar, CEC for Agriculture and Livestock Hon Mohamed Shale and CEO for Municipality Board Abdinur Ole Hussein attended the meeting.
