Chief Justice vetting process 2021

Following the retirement of the former Chief Justice, David Maraga, the Judicial service commission (JSC) shortlisted 10 persons for the position of Chief Justice.

The ten candidates shortlisted included, William Ouko, Martha Koome, Said Chitembwe , Matews Nduma Nderi, Njagi Marete, Philip Murgor, Fred Ngatia, Patricia Mbote, Wekesa Moni and Alice Yano.

The interviews begun on 4th April and are expected to end on 23rd April. 

The JSC has appointed a panel of members who are helping to shortlist the members vying for the position. The JSC is not only in the process of recruiting the third Chief Justice since the promulgation of the constitution of Kenya but also recruiting a Judge of the Supreme court.

The Court will give the results after the process is complete.

Kenyans are urged to stay calm, sanitize, keep social distance and take the Covid 19 measures set by the government.
