Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang is staring a possible jail term over Ksh83m contract deal that he was awarded when he was working in the State Department of Regional Development.
According to the report, Kipsang is said to have breached terms of contract by failing to pay a company by the name NK brothers which had then won a tender for constructing the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) in Kisumu.
The PS pleaded with the judge to be given time to liaise with his successor Idris Dogota so that he can meet the financial obligations, this explanation convinced the judge who extended the timelines for the contract payment.

The PS was dragged to court by the constitution company to respond to the contempt of court, the case dates by to 2019 when he was working at the State Department of Regional Development.
Kipsang is among the few PS's who were retained into the new administration having worked under former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
