Dp Ruto's Point Man Simon Kachapin In West Pokot Shown Dust Results Alleges Most Preferred Governor

Deputy President William Ruto had fielded Simon Kachapin a strong ally in West Pokot County to unseat Governor John Lonyangapuo who is an Azimio candidate in the gubernatorial race.

However, latest opinion poll results released by Mizani Africa, Kachapin has been shown dust with Lonyangapuo emerging the winner in the race.

In the results where three candidates have declared their interest, Lonyangapuo emerged the winner followed by Kachapin of UDA while Nicholas Own Atundon who has been Lonyangapuo's deputy Governor finished third.

Lonyangapuo was voted by 52.6% while Kachapin at 41.7% a marginal difference of 10.9%, Nicholas Own came third with 3.2%. However 2.5% of the residents in West Pokot County are undecided on who to vote at the moment.

With 45days now left for the August general elections their is clear indication that Lonyangapuo may defend his gubernatorial seat unless Ruto's point man Simon Kachapin changes his campaign strategy to convince the voters in West Pokot to vote him.
