Succession Politics in Kisii County Begin as Gubernatorial Aspirant is Caught on Camera Bribing Voters

A man identified as Matoke has been caught on camera bribing voters as succession politics looms in Kisii county.

According to information from close sources Matoke wants to succeed Kisii governor James Omariba Ongwae who is serving his last term in office as governor.

This comes when there is heated rift between Luo-Nyanza succession ahead of the much anticipated 2022 general majority of incumbent leaders will be moving out of offices after completing their second term.

Wrangles in the region have caused conflicts in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which have seen Rarieda member of parliament Otiende Amollo get kicked out from Justice and Legal Affairs Commitee (JLAC) by ODM chairman John Mbadi.

Otiende and Siaya senator James Orengo have been accused of betraying their party leader Raila Odinga after airing their views on Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) bill.
