While in Zombe region in Kitui, Deputy President William Ruto has promised Ukambani residents clean water once he is elected as the President. His tour of the region began today as his counter parts do the same in the neighbouring region in Makueni. Since Ukambani residents have been faced with a problem of water for ages, the Deputy President believes that he can provide a long lasting solution to make sure that each and every house hold do not have to walk long distances to access water for the house and for their animals.

"Water is the driver of the bottom up economic model. The safe and clean supplies of the commodity will ensure that we have a healthy community not just in Kitui region but beyond." DP Ruto said.

He continued to assure the residents that he is ready to provide this essential commodity that the residents have been desiring for years. "Its stable provision will facilitate the hustler nation to unlock the potential of more than 5 million acres of arable land in Ukambani, freeing the region from perennial food challenges." He said.

In normal circumstances, residents of ukambani have always appeared walking lonv distances in search of water. Some carry on their backs while others use donkeys to make sure that their house holds have been supplied with clean water. What people do not understand is how he will make it possible since they have been going through the same situation even when the DP took over leadership for the last 10 years.

The 2022 elections are fast approaching and therefore every leader is trying everything possible to make sure that the voters are convinced to vote them in. The key parties involved are UDA under the DP William Ruto and ODM under the Chief Rt Hon Raila Odinga. Despite the fact that Raila Odinga has not yet declared his candidature, people still believe that he is not ready to step down for the OKA Principals or Jimmy Wanjigi. As time goes by, there is more to follow since party nominations have not yet taken place and no leader has named the running mates.
