Deputy President Dr. William Ruto yesterday commenced his hustler campaigns in Meru County where he held meetings with religious leaders and addressed the residents in several stop-overs in major towns.
In the morning, Dr. Ruto was in Imenti Central Constituency for an empowerment drive. He issued tools of empowerment to more than 5,000 hustlers in Maili Tatu stadium.
He then proceeded to Laare town in Imenti North Constituency to popularize his 2022 bid.
As his entourage sneaked into Laare, Ruto was greeted to song and dance by the jubilant residents who had been waiting for him.
The cheerful residents sang "Ruto ni Mtoto Wa Simba" in praise of the deputy President who was on top of his official car. He joined in the song to appreciated the welcome.
When he took the mic to speak with the residents, Ruto appealed to then not to forsake him in 2022 banking on his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the last elections and Jubilee achievements.
