The four Commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission have issued a statement to the nation after they rejected the presidential results that were announced by the chairperson,Wafula Chebukati.
Speaking during a press briefing at Serena Hotel in Nairobi, the four Commissioners disagreed with the IEBC chairperson. The commission vice chairperson stated that they have remained loyal to the commission oath as a result, they are not part of the results announced. She stated that the commission chairperson did not give them an opportunity to verify the presidential results and analyse the results.
The commission vice chairperson stated that the presidential results did not indicate the number of registered voters, votes casted and votes rejected. She added that the percentage aggregate adds up to 100.1 percent yet it was expected to be 100 percent whereby the 0.01 percent adds up to 142000 votes. The commissioners stated that the results Wafula Chebukati announced are his own results and not the IEBC results.
