The nomination of Peninah Malonza as Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage has been approved by members of the National Assembly.
Peninnah was rejected by the House committee that vetted her because she was deemed unfit for the position.
However, MPs have come to her aid.
Some MPs argued that it was unfair to reject Peninah Malonza based on a criterion that was not applied to the other nominees.
If we're going to pass that list as is, Peninah Malonza should not be discriminated against based on a factor that did not apply to anyone else. "I implore this House to approve her," Mavoko MP Patrick Makau said.
