The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Camp led by Raila Odinga, Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua and Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka have in different press briefings and meetings claimed that President William Ruto was planning to form IEBC of his heart, in order to allow him rig the 2027 elections.
Karua in her latest remarks on Monday said that Ruto's move to push for the ouster of the 4 descending commissioners knowing well that three of the other commissioners would be retiring in January next year was a plan to form 'William Ruto Electoral Commission' and not the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
According to sources who attended the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group Meeting at Windsor hotel, and spoke with Citizen TV, Ruto dismissed the claims of working to have an IEBC that will be for his favour, noting that he wants an independent poll agency.
In the closed door meeting, it is reported that Ruto said that the mass action against his government will not deter the commissioners from being brought to account on what has been termed as trying to subvert the will of Kenyans.
Earlier, the Azimio team maintained that they will be meeting Kenyans at Kamukunji Grounds on December 7th.
