Dr William Ruto who is both the UDA party leader and also the presidential candidate for the Kenya Kwanza alliance, and Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga who also serves as the ODM party leader are in a close race for influence as the country heads to the August general elections.
However, the momentum in the last few days has shifted to an alleged audio of deputy president William Ruto purportedly speaking about a day he went to state house and almost slapped president Uhuru Kenyatta over the repeat 2017 elections.
Murathe alleged that the deputy president slapped former cabinet minister Reuben Chesire and that the fact that he almost slapped Uhuru allegedly paints to kenyans the kind of leader Ruto is.
"Ruto had the audacity to slap Reuben Chesire who was old enough to be his father. He also said he was going to slap Uhuru Kenyatta and was unapologetic. If such a thought can cross his mind, it tells you who you are dealing with," Murathe said.
