As the electioneering day approaches nearby, Kenya is undergoing great political tension. With only less than 95 days, a lot is happening within the political arena especially within the two major coalitions; Azimio La Umoja and Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition.
Within the past few weeks, many political party leaders allied to Azimio La Umoja have threatened to quit the coalition while others have already withdrew themselves.
Today, two allies from Azimio La umoja joined Kenya Kwanza Alliance following their allegations that Azimio does not have transparency in their leadership. The incumbent Speaker for Kilifi county, former Deputy Governor for Kilifi county Selina Maitha, and MCC party leader Dr. Alfred Mutua left Azimio and joined DP Ruto’s Camp.
Moreover, Azimio has had a hard time in selecting the most suitable running mate to deputize Raila Odinga ahead of 2022 general elections where Kalonzo Musyoka has shown his dissatisfaction to the nation about how Azimio is conducting itself.
Due to the above Azimio's failures, incumbent MP for Nyeri constituency Ngunjiri Wambugu has termed Azimio as the most disorganized coalition ever seen. In reciprocating to ODM tweet post, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the current situation.
ODM POST: "The director of election @Junet Mohammed with Mike Makelo Gumo and Westlands MP @ Tim Wanyonyi at Serena hotel earlier today. Mr. Makelo withdrew his candidature for the seat and pledged to support Mr. Wanyonyi"
While responding to this tweet, Honorable Ngunjiri Wambugu replied that, "Azimio La Umoja is very disorganized. We need to work extra hard and organize our team well failure to that, @DP Ruto will beat us badly"
