President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again appointed one of his old cronies to head the Communication Authority docket for a period of three years. The news of the appointment of Kembi Gitura has elicited mixed reactions with many Kenyans angered with the move.
Kembi Gitura who once vied for a seat in the 2017 election is also the chairman of KEMSA which has been making headlines following alleged loss of funds in the state owned organization. Kembi Gitura was adversely mentioned when an expose by NTV dubbed ‘Covid millionaires’ was first highlighted.
Youthful Kenyans have for long urged president Uhuru Kenyatta to consider appointing them in key state jobs, but it seems their pleas have fallen of deaf years. This is not the first time that Kenyans are angered by Uhuru’s choice of leaders, given that there are thousands of competent youths outside here who are well equips to carry some of this tasks.
