Earlier this week, President Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto visited the Nyanza Region. This was his second trip to the area after he controversially and narrowly defeated Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Movement, in the recently concluded hotly contested 2022 general elections. Hon. Raila urged the leaders of the Nyanza Region to put aside their political differences and extend a cordial welcome to the president on his territory.
Following President William Samoei Arap Ruto's visit to the Nyanza Region, Veronica Maina, the secretary general of President Ruto's United Democratic Alliance party, made the following revelations about Hon. Raila. According to Hon Veronica Maina of K24 TV Kenya, Hon Raila's encouragement of the leaders in the Nyanza Region to change course was a commendable display of statesmanship.
