The 2022 presidential aspirant Billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi took a statement to press moments after he was freed from the Kamukunji police station. The tycoon, whose office had been linked to financial injustices was released earlier on Wednesday after the courts set 8th February as his case hearing day.
Billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi was arraigned in court on Wednesday morning.
During the press briefing, the latter stood on his ground insisting that his arrest was a form of injustice peddled by his former ally Raila Odinga through the state machineries. He referred to Raila as a betrayer citing the betrayal scenario of Jesus by Judas Iscariot.
"Raila is a betrayer. This man betrayed me, like Judas. He is a Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. For thirty pieces of silver, Raila betrayed me and allowed the state to do all these injustices to me." he exclaimed bitterly.
He then recalled his experience at the police cells saying it was his very first time sleeping behind bars. According to him, the police officers treated him kindly since he got enough food to eat and a good sleep. He however regretted the fact that he slept in police custody, where he had never imagined hence directing blames and attacks on DCI Kinoti.
"As you all know, for the very first time in my life I slept in Kamukunji police station. I want to assure you all that I was safe inside there. I thank the police officers who treated me well. I got a nice sleep except for the times they came to check on me. But I must say Bwana Kinoti is but a poodle who has masters, so I won't engage him..." the tycoon added.
