The rise in the cost of fuel and electricity across the country has seen Kenyans blaming the members of the National Assembly for their contributions towards the rise in the cost of living in the country especially at the time the world is fighting against the outbreak of the covid 19 pandemic which has ravaged the economy of the country.
According to the report shares on social media by the former Senate deputy speaker, Kithure Kindiki Kenyans should not blame all the members of the National Assembly for the 2018 financial act as 50 members of parliament had voted against the president memorandum but they were outnumbered by the handshake team.
This according to the senator the handshake is the cause of the suffering that Kenyans are going through as a result of passing laws which they are now punishing Kenyans through the high cost of fuels and economic meltdown.
"It is wrong to condemn all Members of the National Assembly for the effects of the 2018 Finance Act which is punishing Kenyans with unprecedented fuel prices & economic meltdown."
"A 50-odd bunch of MPs voted against the President’s Memorandum but sadly, these honest folks were outnumbered & overrun by the “handshake” group enabling the President to force his will on Parliament & the people."
Meanwhile, do you agree with the Senator that the handshake is the real Master in the tough economic times that Kenyon's are facing, share your thoughts?
