IEBC Vice Chair Cherera said that the total doesn't add up and that they were just given the results by Chebukati.
Cherera said the total exceeded the 100% mark, the 0.01% translates to 142,000 votes which made a significant difference in the final presidential results.
"We therefore decline to take ownership of the said presidential results because the aggregation resulted in a total exceeding 100%," Cherera said.
She added the results were not approved by all the seven IEBC commissioners, the results are Chebukati's.She also said that by the time Chebukati announced results, results from some constituencies had not been announced.
"We conducted the election and did it to our level best. We considered all the stages. But the tallying phase was opaque.Screening was not displayed to the public. No one was aware of the accumulation. They did not give us an opportunity to discuss the result. He just said here are the results," Cherera added.
