Political wave is changing day by day as we near electionearing period, It is less than 85 days to go. Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and William Ruto of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have declared that they are the best candidate to replace president Uhuru, who is set to exit the office upon completion of two terms and pave way for the 2022 general election.
Kenyans.co.ke conducted an online poll on their twitter page on who will gain the most votes from central Kenya between William Ruto and Raila Odinga. 6,069 people participated in the process in a period of 11 hours. According to the results William Ruto is the preferred candidate who will gain most votes from Central Kenya with 68%. Raila Odinga become second by far as he managed to get 32% of the total votes.
Even after introducing woman factor in the region when Raila finally settled on Martha Karua as his running mate, Dp Ruto has continued to enjoy massive support in the mountain. In the previous days, Karua and Ruto have been camping in Central Kenya drumming support from the region. The polls clearly shows that Ruto has successful managed to counter inroads made by Karua famously known as 'Iron lady'.
If the polls have anything to go by, Dp Ruto stands a higher chance of becoming the fifth president. On the other hand Raila Odinga will have to re strategize if he wants to secure the precious seat.
