Latest Updates From IEBC Including Voter Turnout Percentage And Numbers As At Noon

The general elections are currently ongoing in the various poling stations across the country. Kenyans from all over turned out to cast their votes and elect new leaders.

As early as 5 a.m in the morning, Kenyans were already making queues ready to cast their votes.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has since come out moments ago to give the updates on the ongoing elections in the country and abroad.

In their latest press release statement, IEBC had a few things to pass across including the following:

1. According to IEBC, as at 12 noon, a total of 6,567, 869 Kenyans had turned up to vote. This is an equivalent of 30.65% of the total number of registered voters which is 22,120,458.

2. Voting is also ongoing in the diaspora and in twelve countries namely: Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, USA, South Sudan, Qatar, UAE and Germany. Voting in the diaspora will take place between 6 a.m and 5 p.m in their local time.
