Washiali was among few leaders from the Western Region who popularized the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party, and the hustler nation, even though he did not seek to defend his seat during the August 9th polls.
In his interview with Citizen Digital on Wednesday, Washiali said that he was not supporting Ruto's presidential bid for get a slot in the government, adding that the president can pick whoever he wants to help him in serving Kenyans, and delivering on the Kenya Kwanza Plan.
"I gave my genuine support to President Ruto during campaigns in good faith, not necessarily in exchange for an appointment. It is within his prerogative to pick whomever he wants to serve Kenyans in whichever capacity."
Washiali went on to say the he will be a happy leader when the Mumias Sugar Factory regains its lost glory as one of the best sugar producing factories in the country.
"For me, when Mumias Sugar is milling, I will be happy because that is what I have fought all along."
