The next general election is drawing closer. Political leaders across the country are aligning themselves ahead of the election. Some leaders are defecting to stronger political parties with great influence.
Today deputy president William Ruto suffered a blow after a senior Riftvalley leader defected from UDA party to Jubilee party. UDA party is associated with deputy president William Ruto and also he enjoys massive support from Riftvalley region.
The senior leader hails from Kajiado county which is one of the counties in larger Riftvalley region. The Ongata Rongai MCA Mwathi pere officially announced to defect from UDA party to Jubilee party. The MCA is renowned in the county and has represented Ongata Rongai ward for a long period.
The senior politician was warmly welcomed by Kajiado governor Joseph Ole Lenku at his official residence in Kajiado. The long serving MCA promised to support governor Joseph Ole Lenku reelection gubernatorial bid.
The MCA also defected from Kajiado UDA gubernatorial aspirant Katoo Ole Metito campaign team. His defection comes a month after Jubilee nominated MCA from the ward Wachuku Mathenge defected to Jubilee party.
