Barasa Speaks Out After IEBC Postponed Governor's Election in Kakamega, Sends Message to Supporters

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has today, August 8, postponed elections for governor's position in Kakamega and Mombasa Counties after mix up in the ballot papers hours before the exercise.

The announcement has come out as a big blow to voters who were prepared to vote for their preferred candidates in those counties. Governor candidates have also stated their disappointment.

Speaking to Citizen TV from Kakamega County, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party governor candidate Fernandez Barasa has revealed that he is agitated with the move and hopes that the issue will not affect anything in return.

He further asked Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party supporters to come out in big numbers and vote for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and other Azimio candidates in the region.

“We are asking IEBC why they had to wait till it is late to make that major announcement... I am urging Azimio supporters to come out and vote for Raila and other Azimio candidates,” he said as quoted from a video shared by the media house.
