Raphael Tuju who is the former Jubilee party secretary-general has broken their silence after disclosing that he is glad that the deputy president Dr. William Samoei Arab Ruto was declared the president-elect by Wafula Chebukati who's the chairman of the independent electoral and boundaries commission IEBC on 18th of August.
While speaking in Ramogi Fm Raphael Tuju highlighted that he was satisfied with the results that DP William Samoei Arab Ruto has declared the fifth president-elect.
He said that the irregularities that were encountered during the election time during the printing process of election ballot papers and allegations that the electoral commission had been rigged in favour of the United Democratic Alliance UDA party.
Rafael Tuju argued that if the election commission IEBC had, a decision to call for a rerun, they could still exercise their democratic right using the same compromised system, paving the way to the same irregularities.
Tuju argued that Azimio la Umoja had enough proof to show to the Supreme Court that the election had been done under irregularities. He said that the Azimio team saw it wise to appeal a case to the Supreme Court instead of trying for a second time under a compromised elect commission system.
