Gatundu South Member of Parliament Hon Moses Kuria has changed tune on Deputy President William Ruto Statehouse bid as Mathira Member of Parliament fire against plans by Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua and team, branded as Mount Kenya Unity Forum.
According to Moses Kuria, he has informed that they are not going to be sweet-talked and that any presidential candidate who wants the support of the Mt Kenya region must subscribe to what the region will be demanding; failure to which they will withdraw their support.
The Gatundu South MP has confirmed that as the Mount Kenya Unity Forum a caucus formed to unite the region and negotiate on its behalf will call for a session with all Presidential Aspirants and sit with them adding that the one who will offer the region the best deal will have their backing.
“We power-sharing of the presidential aspirants go through an open interview. Everyone will have to sit down for a grilling session; the one who offers the region the best deal [will get our support],” Kuria said.
It has been affirmed that the MKUF is planning to roll out a secretariat team that will engage people on the ground to collect the views of Mt Kenya people after which they shall list them down and force a Memorandum of Understanding[MOU] with any presidential aspirants Raila Odinga or DP Ruto.
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and a vocal Leader in the Tangatanga camp a group of legislators supporting DP Ruto has however fired back against Moses Kuria and allies plan informing that DP Ruto will not engage with anyone.
MP Gachagua has said that the region’s economic blueprint under the hustler nation has already been agreed on.
“We met as leaders and after lengthy deliberations came up with the Mt Kenya economic blueprint. That is the document we have committed ourselves to and which our presidential candidate will address,” he said.
