Through a Press release this morning, Fernandes Barasa said Chebukati has mismanaged this year's election and therefore they have a strong case to Lodge Against him. At the same time he exuded confidence that he will win despite postponement setbacks.
Part of the statement read as follows: I speak on behalf of Kakamega County residents when I say how disgusted I am with the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati's decision to cancel the gubernatorial elections that were supposed to take place the following week.
I want to express my gratitude to our legal team, who worked nonstop to build a strong case against Mr. Chebukati. I have faith that the honourable judges at the Kakamega Law Courts will uphold justice for our people.
I want to encourage our supporters and Kakamega residents in general to continue supporting our cause in order to advance the "Maendeleo Na Usawa" agenda. Our victory can be postponed, but it cannot be denied.
Yesterday Wafula Chebukati gave sufficient reasons as to why they're unable to carry out elections in Kakamega and Mombasa counties, one of it being security threats posed on IEBC staffs.
