Kenya is heading for General Election on 9th August, 2022. There are many politicians who are contesting for different seats. In the presidential seat, there are four candidates; Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Geaorge Wajackoyah and David Mwaure Waihiga.
The most popular candidates are Raila Odinga and William Ruto. Raila is the leader of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance while Ruto is the leader of Kenya Kwanza. Both Azimio la Umoja and Kenya leader chose their running mates from Mt Kenya as they aim to get more votes from the mountain.
Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga chose Martha Karua who is coming from Kirinyaga as his running mate. She is a former long-standing member of Parliament for Gichagu Constituency and anadvocate of the High Court of Kenya. She was Minister for Justice until resigning from that position in April 2009. Today she the running mate of Raila Odinga as she hope to be the next Deputy President.
Kenya Kwanza leader William Ruto chose Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate. Gachagua is the current member of Parliament for Mathira Constituency.
