Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Rachelle Omamo has now joined the presidential race of International Fund for Agricultural Development [Ifad]
She is out to flex muscles with other top influential and key figures in the body like Shobanha Kumar from India, Khaled Mahdi from Kuwait and the current associate Vice President and Chief financial officer of Ifad.
As the only Kenyan who is seeking for that top most office in Ifad, it is believed that she stands higher chances of emerging victorious based on the kind of support she is likely to receive from the country and beyond.
And if elected, CS Rachelle Omamo will take over from the Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo, the former Prime Minister of Togo who has led the institution for five solid years now after reappointment for a second term in 2021.
The election is set to take place in Thursday this week in Rome Italy during a three-day Ifad conference that commenced today.
