Age is Really Catching Up With Former Minister Joseph Munyau; See What He's Currently Doing.
The veteran Kenyan politician Joseph Konzolo Munyao was born in Makueni, 1940. Kibauni primary is where he tok his elementary education and later joined Machakos High School. Munyau worked as a clerk in Standard Chartered Bank and left the bank in 1965 and joined provincial administration where he was an accountant.
Munyau made his debut in politics in 1963,Just at the age of 23, he contested for the then Mombasa mainland seat, but he didn't succeed, but most importantly he had already made his mark. In 1975 he won a by- election after a successful petition.
Munyau however lost his seat to Johnson Makau in 1988 in the famously remembered queue-voting elections during Moi era. In 2002 He made a come back and won the Mbooni seat. He was appointed as the minister for Livestock by former president Mwai Kibaki.
After retirement from active politics, Munyau has embarked on dairy, poultry, and goat farming at his Makueni farm,Kalawa. He also grows citrus fruits, cotton as well as running his own firm, that is, Plastic Products (K) LTD. Though retired, Munyau is still a Democratic Party leader.
