"I am among those who supported Raila Odinga and the handshake. Ni kama alikuwa ameniekea dawa sikujijua. Lakini baada ya maombi yenu nikajitambua," said Waiguru while addressing Residents of Kerugoya as she accompanied Deputy President William Ruto.

William Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party are today in Kirinyaga county meeting a section of residents after attending a church service at the All Saints Kianyaga Anglican Church this morning.

In his speech at Kianyaga, William Ruto stated that his UDA party will use democracy in choosing candidates for the upcoming general election.

This was in reference to the straining relationship between Kirinyaga Women Representative Wangui Ngirici and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, who have been at loggerheads since Waiguru joined UDA.

The main bone of contention between them is their common bid to for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat through the UDA party in the upcoming General Election in 2022.

Ruto urged Kirinyaga residents to maintain peace between themselves as they will have a chance to choose whoever they wanted through a fair and free nomination process. Video
