African Country With the Highest Number of Presidential Candidates Conducts Election Today

The nation of Nigeria has embarked on choosing new national leaders today. The seventh most populous country in the world is conducting her general election toady 25th February this is according to their constitution. The current president is Muhammadu Buhari.

Africa is closely watching who will win the elections. These elections are closely contested since the current president has served two terms. There are three hopeful candidates in today's elections these include Labour Party's Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress (APC) party and the third one is Atiku Abubakar.

The total number of the presidential candidates is eighteen. Out of this only three are likely to win according to opinion polls. Only one female candidate has entered the competition with a low likely of winning the polls.

Many of the Nigerian convection suggest that one of candidates from major political parties are likely to win that is Mr Atiku or Mr Tinubu. However, others say that if youth votes are highly mobilized Mr Obi can win the race.

Election results are to be known three days after the polls. This is based on the previous two presidential results.
