Kabando Makes U-turn, Admits The Man he Said Will Lose by 6am Could be Next President

Former Mukurweini MP Kabando Wa Kabando has once again made a U-turn on one of his earlier remarks, making an unexpected admissions.

He is among top political players who have been very vocal on the 2022 succession politics and has been airing his opinions through his Twitter handle.

He now says that things are slowly tilting in favour of ODM leader Raila Odinga, one of the frontrunners in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former Assistant Minister argues that judging by what is happening in the political arena, chances of Raila winning the presidency are increasing.

"10 months to Elections. Recently privileged to meet/consult William Ruto, Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, Reuben Kigame and Raila Odinga. 1 day in politics = eternity. Even with Ruto's energetic campaigns, a Raila Presidency is increasingly becoming a possibility. QUESTION: who will win + end Graft?" he says.

But this comes as a big U-turn from a man who only recently predicted humiliation for Raila, foreseeing that he will have been defeated before mid morning.

At some point dancing to Ruto's tune, he said that Raila would lose to the DP by 6am, telling him that the Mt Kenya region will lead the way in rejecting him.

He said that Raila is ageing and will not be elected president, in addition to his observation that the leader has allowed corruption to thrive in the country.

"Forget NOT they still say you're 'múgúrúki' "kímúndú". They won't ever trust you for they know not you. But they say you're 'aged, weak, ailing, mellowed' so they'll attempt to "install" you for their gluttonous motives. In ensuing circumstances, you'll lose to a 'Hustler' 6am," he said in a tweet in July.

But his observation has landed him in trouble, with Kigame wondering how he could even include Ruto, who is facing claims of being seriously corrupt, in the list of possible 2022 winners.

Kabando's observation comes amid many similar others from fellow leaders from Mt Kenya, some of whom have admitted that the former Premier is gaining ground there.

Some, under the leadership of Uhuru, have began campaigning for Raila, admitting that he a very good chance of winning the region's backing.
