Githaiga Francis Muraya of United Democratic Alliance party(UDA), has been declared the dully elected Member of County Assembly for Rurii Ward in Nyandarua County.
Githaiga of UDA party garnered a total of 4,303 votes,translating to 57% of the total votes cast. Kiriga Peter Thinji of Jubilee emerged a distant second with 3,143 votes equivalent to 42% of the total votes cast.
It was all songs and dances in Rurii town after Githaiga Was declared the winner. Deputy President William Ruto also didn't hesitate to show his happiness after his preferred candidate Githaiga emerged winner. Through his twitter handled the DP said that the hustler nation are graceful to God for victories in Juja and Rurii By-elections.
UDA party win in Rurii has continue to send signal to, the corridors of politics that DP Ruto enjoys a tremendous and massive support in the vote rich Mt Kenya region which is the backyard of President Uhuru.
Rurii By-elections loss continues the series of frustrations to the"Kieleweke "group of leaders allied to the President, barely days after the High Court sabotaged the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) process by declaring it null, void and unconstitutional.
