Polygamy as a concept, has suffered suppression thanks to the emerging factors such as the Christian religion that is often against individuals getting more than one woman as a wife.
Polygamy existed in Africa way before the emergency of modern religion. It was a common practice for a man to marry several wives provided he can take care of them. This practice ensured that the man is no longer tempted to seek sexual pleasures from out side women in the event that one feels like experiencing a change of 'diet'.
However the removal of polygamy has resulted in lots of serial cheating among couples since the society views one with disdain when they decide to marry a second wife.
A popular Mp has now vowed to go against the societal norm by getting a second wife for himself in case he wins in August. According to a report by a local daily, the MP is planning to reward himself with a younger 'babe' after the difficult campaign period.
He has decided to keep the matter a secret for now to avoid family fights with his first wife which could give his opponents an advantage.
Meanwhile share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
