Yesterday, August 15, the long-running counting procedure was completed. No major dispute has surfaced as of the time of this writing, despite the IEBC Chairman's assurances to Kenyans that the presidential election results had been held in a free and fair way.
Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Kenya's Deputy president, was declared the winner with 7,176,141 votes which equates to 50.49% while Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Presidential candidate Hon Raila Odinga garnered 6924930 votes which represent 48.85%.
And now, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has made a major announcement on the official Facebook page about the just concluded general elections. They have revealed that Deputy President William Ruto and deputy Hon Rigathi Gachagua have been gazetted the gazette as per gazette number 9773.On the other hand, Raila Odinga today through a press at KICC alleges that he will not accept the presidential results which were released yesterday by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
