What You Should Expect in Presidential Speech Today

The president is expected to make his speech today during labour day celebration. The question many kenyans are asking is whether the president will open those locked counties. On 26th March 2021, Uhuru Kenyatta declared Nairobi alongside other counties a no-go zone after an increased of infections. Physical learning was also muted until further notice.

The lockdown and those other measures were to put to flatten the curve. According to the ministry of health, the curve is yet to flatten since the infections have not reduced consecutively. It will be impossible for the president to open Nairobi county which have most infections since the outbreak of third wave of the pandemic.

Learning in all institutions is being affected since not all the students are capable of attending online classes. Some of students comes from areas where there is no electricity and network challenges. If e-learning will be the case, some students will find it difficult to graduate.

Parents and students are requesting the government to install measures which will enable students to return to school as they adhere to them. As we wait presidential speech today, what do you expect from him?
