Former Kiunjuri Allies Forced to End Their Speeches After Meeting Hostile Crowd During Ruto's Visit

Two allies of the Service party leader Mwangi Kinjuri on Saturday had a hard time addressing residents in Nanyuki during Deputy President William Ruto's visit.

The duo Laikipia Senator John Kinyua alongside Laikipia West MP Patrick Mariru faced an hostile crowd drowning their speeches despite ditching the former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary to UDA.

According to a report by Citizen TV, the hostility was driven by local politics as the duo are eyeing the Senatorial post.

In a past address to the residents, Kinyua urged them not to axe him come 2022 over claims that he had been silent in the Senate during important proceedings.

The two lawmakers affirmed their support for Ruto's presidential bid and the UDA party before the crowd became agitated.

While addressing the crowd, Ruto did not comment on what happened, instead took his time to criticize Mount Kenya Foundation forum for 'interviewing' presidential hopefuls a day after they hosted the One Kenya Alliance principals, and ten days after hosting the ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

He added that his 2022 administration will be focusing in uplifting the small scale and medium businesses.
