Latest Opinion Poll For Mombasa Shows A Widening Gap Between Mike Sonko and Other Aspirants

The race for Mombasa gubernatorial seat is expected to witness a heavy competition among Orange Democratic Movement aspirant Abdulswamad Shariff, Wiper party candidate Mike Mbuvi Sonko who is facing uncertainity whether he will be in the race for Mombasa gubernatorial seat and United Democratic Alliance candidate Hassan Omar.

Mizani Africa has today released an opinion poll that has Wiper candidate Mike Mbuvi Sonko leading with 34.6% of the participants, ODM's Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir comes second with 27.1% and UDA's Hassan Omar comes third with 26.3%.

However Mike Sonko will not be cleared to co test to the governor seat in Mombasa because he was impeached as Nairobi governor over corruption allegations, yesterday independent electoral and boundaries commission chairman Wafula Chebukati maintained that any leader who was impeached from office will not be cleared to run for any elective seat in the upcoming general elections, Sonko has already picked Ali Mbogo as his running mate but it seems their fate has been sealed.

Thank you.
