"You Wouldn't Let Your Grandparents Pick Your Playlist," MP Condemn Elders in a Facebook Post

William Ruto's ally has become a center of criticism after making a political Facebook post seen to be looking down upon elder people who take part in voting in leaders, the Kuresoi South-based legislator said the youth only needed to be the ones to decide in who becomes their leader and not their grandparents.

"You wouldn’t let your grandparents pick your playlist. Why would you let them pick your representative who’s going to determine your future? I had a little chit-chat with my local friends. As l seek their support to become their next member of Parliament," Gideon Keter posted.

The MP was nominated by the Jubilee party to represent the youth but has grown bad blood with the older people after making the statement which has been termed unfortunate. He was asked to come out clearly and state if he only needed votes from the youth.

"This is so unfortunate, in other places the elder people guide the younger generation. It's during voting that you see the elderly being carried even in backs to go and vote. Mheshimiwa, you should not look down upon your parents. Or you only need votes from youth alone," A user said.
