Following allegations that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is in talks with the leadership of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance to re-join the camp, Machakos Wiper gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti has lambasted individuals she claims are dragging Kalonzo back to Azimio without a planned plan.
After failing to gain the Azimio wing's running partner slot, which was awarded to Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua, Kalonzo launched his State House bid and further presented his running mate, Mr Andrew Sunkuli, on Monday.
Ndeti told K24 on Thursday that despite Kalonzo's announcement that he would be taking a break from politics to re-strategize and plan his next move, some leaders who she did not name followed him to his Yatta home and are pressuring him to return to Azimio.
"We appreciate what Kalonzo said and done, but he indicated there would be conversations, so let's be patient and see what comes out of those discussions."
"Hakuna haja ya watu kumfuata Kalonzo uku Machakos na kumshtumu, hao ni wale watu wanaongezea chumvi kwa vidonda," Ndeti added.
According to Citizen TV, Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi and other leaders inside Azimio's inner circle spent virtually the whole Thursday attempting to find a common ground to persuade Kalonzo to return to Raila's side.
Several political experts believe that if Kalonzo runs for president, Raila will not receive Ukambani votes, and that a run-off election would be held in August.
