DP Gachagua Meets UDA Governor Who Has Threatened to Ditch KKA, Responds to Him

Nyeri Governor raised eyebrows after he threatened to ditch Kenya Kwanza following the contested EALA elections in parliament. Speaking on Friday during the swearing in of CECs, Mutahi Kahiga accused Kenya Kwanza leaders of political conmanship and deceit. Kahiga said that there was deliberate plan by Kenya Kwanza to sideline Mt Kenya region in the EALA posts.

"Yesterday we saw political conmanship and deceit. We don't know for how long this marriage will last but let me say here in the county of Mau Mau that 'dalili ya mvua ni mawingu'. We know very well that Kenya Kwanza leadership did not want Mt Kenya to get a slot in the EALA posts but our leaders from this region stood together," alluded Kahiga. (Watch video from 1hr 40min).

However, the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua met with Governor Mutahi Kahiga on Saturday 19th, during a graduation ceremony of medical students at the Outspan Medical College in Nyeri.

Gachagua stated that he had heard the threats of the governor and assured him that everything was well in the ruling alliance. He said that the political marriage between William Ruto and the people of the mountain is a lasting one and nobody can break it. The deputy president accused the media of creating rifts where none exists.

"I heard you yesterday say that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance marriage has an unpredictable future. Let me tell you that our political marriage is permanent. Our first child of this marriage is coming shortly, and from there we shall have many more healthy kids. Let's not create stories where none exists. The president allowed democracy to thrive during the EALA elections." Gachagua told the Nyeri Governor. (Watch video from 1 hr).
