Azimio was not the only Mount Kenya leader to celebrate Kanini Kega's election as a representative in the EALA. This is based on the massive turnout of Central Kenya Kwanza allies to celebrate Kanini Kega despite his connections to the Azimio group.
Former Agriculture CS Peter Munya, who is traveling to Arusha, Tanzania, where EALA has its base, is one of the prominent Mountain leaders who have sent congratulations to Kega.
Munya, who had appeared to be on vacation because he hasn't posted anything since his handover, has returned and praised Kega for his well-deserved victory, urging him to serve with honor and diligence.
It is noteworthy that Peter Munya and Kanini Kega, a former Kieni MP lawmaker, were close and actively promoted Raila in Central Kenya.
"Truly deserved. Congratulations my good brother and friend Hon Kanini Kega. Serve with honor and diligence," Munya wrote on his official Facebook page.
