Road accidents have rapidly increased as we head to the electioneering period. Branded campaign vehicles are all the country with huge sounds systems popularizing their respective candidates.
The fatal accident took place at Free area per KTN news reporter Ibrahim Karanja. The campaign vehicle bearing the name of governor Lee Kinyanjui and Jubilee party red colours was speedily heading to Nakuru city from Nairobi.
The vehicle lost control and hit people on the road side. Two people were hit and died on the spot. The driver who is said to be a member of Nakuru county assembly was badly injured and was rushed to the nearest hospital.
Traffic Police officers from Nakuru county reached at the incident venue and dragged the campaign vehicle to the nearest police station.
Governor Lee Kinyanjui is seeking reelection on a Jubilee party ticket. He is facing off with senator Susan Kihika who is the UDA party candidate.
