Chaos have erupted in Rift Valley Uasin Gishu County, Eldoret town as the residents want reinstatement of Deputy William Ruto's security personnel which had earlier been changed from GSU officers to Administrative Police officers.

This is after a peaceful riot being led by the Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Shollei and Eldoret residents has been conducted demanding an explanationon why the Deputy's security was withdrawn.

According to Daily Star in a video clip, the residents have vowed to continue with the riots until the president reconsiders his decision on replacing the second in command's security. Adding to that, Soy MP Caleb Kositany who is also present at the scene has mentioned that William Ruto has his people to back him up even if he is being oppressed as alleged.

Meanwhile the government led by Hillary Mutyambai has mentioned that it was not a political issue that the GSU were changed from his residence and that it was a normal line of duty by the administrative authorities.

Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso also issued a statement stating that the replacement of DP Ruto’s GSU security team by AP officers is normal reassignment of duties within the police service to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
