The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission had released it yearly report on the corruptionanf ethics situation in the country.The report is out to paint the corrupt levels that has been witnessed in the country in a survey as of 2021.The report also serves as an important tool that will be used by the EACC in doing its mandate of fighting corruption effectively.
Women have been placed as those who paid higher bribes compared to men in the EACC survey.The average amount of money they paid as bribes was placed at 8818.84 while that men was placed at 5410.94,a less of about Kshs 3,000.
The report also revealed that more than half of Kenyans were not interested in fighting corruption individually and did nothing at their personal capacity.However it noted that this there was an improvement since the percentage was bigger in previous years.
"National Ethics and Corruption Survey 2021: Over half of Kenyans (51.3%) do nothing at the individual level to help in the fight against corruption, which is an improvement from 67% and 61.7% in 2018 and 2017 respectively," the EACC report read.
